Because of its properties, MagChem MgO raises the viscosity of the glass melt – ensuring a more precise mold. For fiberglass applications, melt viscosity must be fairly high so that the semi-molten strands have integrity – thus preventing breakage – as the glass emerges from the spinnerets.
